We have been so busy working on their opera Pangaea. We’re finally getting back to doing some Gemini Wolf shows including an upcoming performance at the First Unitarian Chapel in Philadelphia. This beautiful space has a nice warm natural reverb and quiet music sounds amazing in there. We’re excited to try something new for this show. The series is called still life and will also feature sets by Tadoma and Gina Ferrera.

One of the most thought-provoking records to come out of Philadelphia’s electronic music scene in recent years, Gemini Wolf‘s Infinite Sand Dunes ponders a scorched-earth future through eerie sonic textures, urgent vocal elements and a wholly instrumental side B where all traces of humanity have vanished. It’s like the soundtrack to a vast ocean, or a sprawling desert. Today’s Philly Local Phile hones in on “Doppelganger Walk,” the last of the album’s vocal cuts and the point where the march of mankind has plowed forth and the dunes are all that’s left. the a-side is full of heavy percussion, synthesizers, and dark, sultry vocals, the b-side is mostly made up of cavernous drones, slowed-down beats, and passionate experimentalism. Rad stuff

We’re excited to be headed back to Johnny Brenda’s this Friday. We always have a great time at JB’s.

We’ll be playing a duo set opening for our neighbors and friends Turning Violet Violet for their EP release party.

This will be our final Gemini Wolf show for a while as we work on part one of Infinite Sand Dunes and the Pangaea opera.

Keep your eye out for new things-a-brewing.
